PV's dont mean nearly as much [to me] as the number of watchers/feedback i get, because im only going to grow as an artist through critiques and guidance, not how popular (or not) i've become
Pageviews are only for counting your "marketing popularity", I like when my works get faved and when I get deviantwatches as I know that ppl like my work and want to keep up with it. But the best is feedback and comments that critique or tell me what are the good and the bad aspects of my stuff. But I'm human and can't say I don't like some appreciation, so I accept mostly all comments.
PV's are only worthy for bloggers and "Internet Marketers" (>_> bloody vikings, I don't like spam).
We're artist here, as such 's and 's are more important as that's what builds a fan base. Though great art is the top ruling and we all should remember that.
DeviantART is about popularity. Not art. So why don't they call it DeviantPopularity? I've seen loads of artists here on DA that SUCKS at art, but still has like, i dunno over 20,000 pageviews? while some people who really are good is stuck with 2000 pagewiews or so is an example.
Well, obviously you're going to feel a sense of accomplishment. It's not too big of a deal to me, but if I'm getting more hits, that means I have more of a chance of selling my art, which is nice ^_^
If anything I watch for milestones as a signal that people like my work, and the more PV's the more people like it, so I work harder as the milestones come by hoping to make a name for myself as a space artist
