PV's dont mean nearly as much [to me] as the number of watchers/feedback i get, because im only going to grow as an artist through critiques and guidance, not how popular (or not) i've become

Pageviews are only for counting your "marketing popularity", I like when my works get faved and when I get deviantwatches as I know that ppl like my work and want to keep up with it.
But the best is feedback and comments that critique or tell me what are the good and the bad aspects of my stuff. But I'm human and can't say I don't like some appreciation, so I accept mostly all comments.

PV's are only worthy for bloggers and "Internet Marketers" (>_> bloody vikings, I don't like spam).

We're artist here, as such :+fav:'s and :+devwatch:'s are more important as that's what builds a fan base. Though great art is the top ruling and we all should remember that. :D

DeviantART is about popularity. Not art. So why don't they call it DeviantPopularity? I've seen loads of artists here on DA that SUCKS at art, but still has like, i dunno over 20,000 pageviews? while some people who really are good is stuck with 2000 pagewiews or so :iconhundset: is an example.

Well, obviously you're going to feel a sense of accomplishment. It's not too big of a deal to me, but if I'm getting more hits, that means I have more of a chance of selling my art, which is nice ^_^

Well I try to increase visitation rates and such, but whenever a new milestone is reached I don't feel excited about it or anything...

I couldn't care less about page views. Yeah, I want exposure, but I need critique, too. Page views without comments are worthless.

If anything I watch for milestones as a signal that people like my work, and the more PV's the more people like it, so I work harder as the milestones come by hoping to make a name for myself as a space artist

I honestly love pageview milestones, I just hit 1k myself. But favorites and comments mean a lot more to me because it means that people truly do appreciate your work, you know?

I read all comments. Traitor fish is right. Every single person who watchs me or favs my work, I'm so proud then. I can see that they apreciates my art.

I think favs and watches are more important. They show when someone really appreciates your art, rather than just someone happening to pass through.

Page views are 'nice' and tell me that at least some one has looked at my art - but really I don't get that many page views per deviation so of the 5+ MILLION that use this site - only .00000001 % seem to know I have art here.. :D

it's not about this. pageviews, favs and stuff don't really tell my picws' real value, i think it's more about how popular you are and how much you try to 'reach the community' :)

Pageviews don't mean anything to me to be honest with you. I really appreciate anybody who takes the time to look, give feedback or add it to thier favs list. But to me its not about numbers. Its not why I post, and its not what I look for in others. I like people for thier art, not the amount of pageviews. Although I've said this elsewhere today it bares repeating. If I want a highscore, ranks or whatever, I'll play a videogame. Or better yet, go outside and play a real game with friends. Art is not about numbers, and when we forget that we all loose sight of what art truely is, and it becomes tainted and dies a little. Keep art sacred.

This isnt directed towards anyone so please nobody take offense, its just how I feel. And there has been alot of talk about views and numbers on Deviant Art as well as many other art sites lately, I just don't get lol

milk and sugar please! nah, i much prefer watchers and favs to actual pageviews, although they do give a good representation of how well youre doing, and how many people are looking back at your page (usually means they like your work) unless youre a fav-whore, of course. hitting the 1k/10k/20k etc milestones are a good example. It also gives me an excuse to fill in my journal :D

Unless one day page views come with prizes I think they should get rid of them, keep the separate views for the art work and the favs and the watchers, but the whole page views thing is just getting into one big popularity contest which isn't what this site is about. But thats just my opinion I'm sure someone has a reason too keep them besides the proof popularity

nach die ich die 20k überschritten hatte, haben sich auf einmal auch leute für mein zeugs interessiert, die sich selbst "wichtig" nehmen, sag ich mal so ^^;

aber watcher und favos sind mir eh lieber ^^

The number of page views I have doesn't really matter to me. I care more about the number of views I get a day, I think this is far more important the the total number of veiws.
