Stronghold by taenaron Stronghold by taenaron
Inspired by the visit of Fortress Königstein near Dresden I decided to create a medival scene. The picture is showing an early stage of an upcoming battle/siege. The only two soldiers on the wall are just checking out the distance. Own stocks and textures from cgtextures.com have been used. Little making-of on gtgraphics.de.

Well done! The whole scene is amazing!

Very nice mood, like the colours. But, because I'm a medieval-nitpicker... these cannons are Napoleonic-age field artillery pieces. ;) But never mind me, well made!

Fantastic artwork.

Would have been interesting if the blurred cannonball was there somewhere. You could have also added the general defending the fort observing the range calculations.

I also notice the lack of other cannonballs near the cannons... isn't that strange especially with an impending battle coming? Looks like they only really had one shot to test the range.

The first thing that caught my eye was how you did the cannon's blast effect, it looks really good. That effect actually made me think it was a real photo for a sec.

Its like a still from a console game and so realistic. The sky is a wonderful touch too as it gives a very menacing feel to what is about to take place (and does'nt disatract the eye('s) at all...well at least not mine:D).
Here's my contribution to the soldiers morale --> :+fav: :icongrin--plz:.

Agreed, but since when do console games look ''so realistic''. ;p
