Artist's CommentsDecampment Somewhen in past, mankind colonized the moon. The population grew up fast with help coming from earth. But as soon as they noticed that they are able to live autarkical, the people on moon wanted political independence. Of course, earth's United Nations declined this request. The result was the first war between both planetoides. The people on moon could lean on enough resources and new materials. They developed new kind of engines, ships and weapons and that was why they were easily able to beat everything coming from earth. Earth lost its last resources to built up the colony on moon and had no chance to win this war. Their only hope was the invention of a huge nuclear weapon to destroy the moon as a whole. Because the moon-people were not able to defeat the earth, they tried to find other solutions. After discovering the plans about the weapon they decided to leave the solar system. With the help of a re-activated core of the moon itself they would get enough energy for their planned engine. The engine was finished and the journey into the unkown started. As a last message not to follow, the moon-people destroyed the capital of United Nations of Earth, Washington D.C.. ![]() 1024x768 1440x900 1600x1200 1680x1050 1920x1200 The moon colonization, the greatest endeavor in the history of earth. It had taken a century just to get the domes perfected, great caverns being the first cities of the moon. The Lunas were proud of their new home, a scientific heaven with enough exotic resources to fuel not only their own space programs but also that of the Earth for centuries to come! They had fought hard to make it a reality, the domes now housing the greatest minds in the solar system along with their families. The ruler of Luna was an AI, it's mind a mesh of all those alive and dead, the result of everyone being connected to it's interface. It was proud, it was intelligent and it saw the envy that spread below on the blue planet. Scientific research had boomed on Luna, but Earth was forced to pay heavy taxes on all goods and manufacture was next to impossible on Earth, it's high gravity not able to produce the materials needed. As a result the people on Earth protested, wishing to force the Lunas to share their scientific research. It was futile, of course, Luna now controlled the basic economy of Earth. It's massive research and manufacturing plants producing most of the modern technologies that made life easy and pleasant. Envy turned to resentment, to anger and in the end threats of occupation and assimilation of the moon. The Lunas ignored the petty threats, instead turning their research to a way to escape the clutches of the Earth. As a war of words and economics was fought by politicians on both sides, the North American Coalition started developing "A way to stop the Lunas for good". Years dragged on, the rising disdain on Luna for Earth meaning they stopped their trade, and as a result massive riots broke out on Earth. The economy had plummeted after the cold war with Luna had started and since the planetoid had a larger Navy than the Earth, it blocked all ships from the outer colonies reaching Earth. The riots got worse, the governments got desperate. They were about to launch their secret weapon when Luna started moving.... the massive planetoid suddenly inching away from the planet. The military base and the surrounding area, an area the size of Ireland was vaporized. Without the moon, the waters fell still, the night went pitch black and a piece of Terra was gone forever. |

Critiques
The planet, along with the distant nebula, are both well done though the absence of an atmosphere does leave one to think that perhaps this earth has none? Either way, the lack of it actually cause's a slight issue with immersion.
A moon with an engine? Not a bad idea and well executed I might add, the trails that the engines make are also not that badly done though I am assuming that a part of the moon was used on earth - if that is the case, a bigger explosion would've undoubtedly taken place.
The only other critique I have is the lack of 'life' in the space scene, you have stars and you have a nebula which are good - but the addition of something happening in the distance (like perhaps a distant supernova or something along those lines, maybe even a meteor or comet or perhaps Earth making a last ditch effort to stop them *futile though I might add*) would add much to the scene.
Other than that, this is a great piece with some good talent. Keep it up!
The Nebulae is good Planets are good and the rest is also good.
Never Stop creating this awesome cool shit.
thats so cool.
