On a first sight, the wide format of this image really stands out. What I like the most about this pic is the planet in the background....

All about contest

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 15, 2009, 1:21 AM

Unknown Moons

We finally announced the winners. It took quite a while to go through all of the entries (equal chances to everyone). We had five criteria: :bulletgreen: first impression: :bulletgreen: execution :bulletgreen: creativity :bulletgreen: connection to topic :bulletgreen: performance in relation to other works of the artist.

The last point was given to be fair towards younger/less experienced artists. I think the winning pieces underline that it worked well :) After summing up the three results from `j4m3sb0nd, ^gucken and me, we also were some kind of suprised (in a positive meaning).

:wow: :wow: :wow: Go check out the News Article.!!! :wow: :wow: :wow:

Center of Power

Yes thats right, we are already hosting the second contest to push you to your limits. The participation in the fist one was awesome, now we want to go to the next level (although it's a bit harder this time I think). Prizes are very cool again and sponsored by Community Relations.

:wow: :wow: :wow:Beyond the Frontier II - Center of Power.!!! :wow: :wow: :wow:

Deadline is silvester, Dec 31st 23:59 PST :O Good luck to everyone! A last sidenote: there will be the same criteria for the judgement. Nothing is impossible :)

Forum

I set up a forum on my userpage. At the moment, there are two topics that could be found there: General Feedback and Inspirational ideas... I think it might be helpful to use it. I would appreciate feedback and ideas from your side :D

About me

My name is Tobias Roetsch and I am a 22 years old German artist living in Dresden. I started practising photoshop three years ago and it became my favourite program (besides winamp lol). Since 2006 I am also the proud owner of a DSLR. I am studying international business and working at an advertising agency three days a week.

Together with ^gucken I am the gallery moderator of the science fiction & space art gallery. Our job is to promote this kind of art, keep the gallery clean, give away daily deviations, feature art in news articles and help you out if you have any problems or questions. And of course feel free to show us your suggestions and ideas as well.

Suggesting a Daily Deviation

:bulletblue: please make sure the deviant hasn't received
a daily deviation in the past three months
:bulletblue: subject of the note should be "DD suggestion"
:bulletblue: explain why it deserves a daily deviation award
in your opinion
:bulletblue: you may suggest one of your own pieces, too!
:bulletblue: do not suggest the same piece to ^gucken and
me at the same time
:bulletblue: suggest anything that is related to space art or
science fiction

Some helpful information

FAQ #85: Can I be a volunteer on deviantART?
FAQ #634: Why was my deviation relocated or moved?
FAQ #873: What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?

I just find it interesting. I have not spoken to anyone from germany with the same space art interest as me. I've taken some german classes in high school, though I am very poor at speaking it. haha
